LAURA MCCULLOUGH
The air is bright1/7/2014 It's hovering around 5 degrees here on the Jersey Shore, five miles in from the water. The sun is warm through the window, though the cold drafts through here and there, a fresh burst across the face now and then. I feel the polar vortex in the confluence of hot refracted light on my face through glass and the sharp, clear air I breathe in from the window. Luck has allowed some of my poems from the new manuscript, Jersey Mercy, into the world this week: At Drunken Boat 18, a section on the ocean, curated by the fierce and wonderful travleer and artist Marie-Elizabeth Mali. Check out her pics, as well as the other poems. The Good Men Project has my poem "Trance" up and will publish a couple of others in the coming months in their new poetry section curated by poet Charlie Bondhus.
